Coach Tony Granato is getting his Wisconsin men’s hockey team ready for an October 3rd season opener.
Players will begin working with the coaching staff today (Wednesday). The problem is, nobody knows when the Badgers will actually take to the ice against an opponent during the coronavirus pandemic.
Granato, his assistants, and the Badgers players are not-that-patiently waiting to hear from the Big Ten Conference and the N-C-A-A on the status of the college hockey season.
Both the men’s and women’s hockey teams have been idle since March 12th when the pandemic forced the shutdown of all winter and spring collegiate championships.
With a record of 28-5-3, the women’s team appeared to be capable of defending its national title.
