The Madison Metropolitan School District is reportedly giving staff members two options – show up for in-person work, or resign.
More than 500 employees got emails.
The district wants them to volunteer to help fill the gaps in child care and educational needs at Madison School and Community Recreation.
A district spokesperson says it’s a reassignment due to the coronavirus pandemic.
70% of the staff members agreed to be reassigned.
The 30% who didn’t volunteer were sent a followup email, giving them the option to accept the reassignment or resign.
