The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association has saluted 46 schools that met the criteria to be named recipients of the Award of Excellence in 2019-’20.
Two area schools receive the honor, those being Hilbert and Sheboygan Falls.
A release from the WIAA office in Stevens Point explains the award promotes and recognizes the efforts and achievements of schools in the areas of sportsmanship, ethics, integrity, leadership and character.
It continues, schools and athletic administrators experienced unique and additional challenges this year with school closures and cancellation of high school activities in the spring because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Those Award of Excellence winners will be honored at the fall Area meetings, which will be conducted virtually.
