
Governor Tony Evers has issued a state of emergency for Wisconsin in response to protests following the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha.
The Wisconsin National Guard has been sent to Kenosha to help local first responders protect infrastructures like utilities and fire stations.
Large angry crowds have gathered in Kenosha and Madison since the Sunday shooting.
Meanwhile, Blake’s family is going to file a civil lawsuit against the department.
Attorney Ben Crump says Jacob Blake is paralyzed from the waist down and it will take a miracle for him to walk again.
The 29-year-old Blake is in critical condition after according to a second family attorney, Patrick Salvi Junior, one of the bullets went through Blake’s spinal cord.
One of his kidneys, his colon, and parts of his small intestine had to be removed.
