The head of the Wisconsin Republican Party says Governor Tony Evers’ comments on the Kenosha incident are inciting people to violence.
Andrew Hitt wants Evers to walk-back the statements he made after Sunday’s officer-involved shooting. Hitt says the governor should lead the state, not make claims about race and police brutality based on a 30-second video. Governor Evers said Jacob Blake’s shooting is not the first incident of a Black Wisconsin resident being shot – or worse – by the police. Blake was shot multiple times after not obeying police commands.
