A Manitowoc man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly attacked his mother while high.
Officers were dispatched to Walmart after the store manager reported a man attacking a woman in the parking lot. When officers got there, they both had left the scene, but cameras were able to capture the license plate of the vehicle.
Officers went to the home attached to the license plate and spoke with the 34-year-old suspect.
He admitted to huffing earlier in the day and admitted to getting into an argument with his mother.
When officers attempted to speak with the mother, they heard a hissing noise, that sounded like an aerosol can being engaged. The woman answered the door but didn’t answer any questions before closing the door. Officers believe the woman was huffing based on the sound, and her “unstable condition”.
No charges were filed on the woman, but the man was taken into police custody on charges of Disorderly Conduct (with a Domestic Violence Order), Abuse of a Hazardous Substance, and two counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
