First basemen Justin Smoak drove in three runs as his Milwaukee Brewers were snapping a four-game losing streak at home Monday night 4-2 against the Cincinnati Reds.
The Brewers scored in the first inning on a single by Smoak – the first time they’d done that in 11 games.
So far this year Milwaukee has been outscored 37-6 in the first two innings of its games.
Brett Anderson outdueled Cincinnati’s Trevor Bauer to claim the mound victory. Josh Hader earned save number six.
Hader hasn’t allowed a hit or a run this year, striking out 13 of the 25 batters he’s faced.
Right-hander Brandon Woodruff starts for the Brewers tonight (Tuesday) at Miller Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM and will be aired on 107.9 FM WOMT and at WOMTRadio.com.
