Members of the Rock County Sheriff’s Office Water Rescue Team had to run through the woods for 2.5 miles to rescue two people from Illinois Saturday night.
A caller had reported a man and woman were struggling in the Sugar River shortly before 9:00 p-m.
Dispatchers were told one person was holding on to a kayak and a second one was using a tube to stay afloat.
