The Milwaukee Brewers managed just one hit in six innings off Twins starter Jose Berrios while dropping a 7-1 game at Target Field Thursday.
The loss marked the sixth time this season Milwaukee has fallen short in an effort to bump its record over the .500 mark.
Justin Smoak’s homer in the seventh accounted for the Brewers’ only run. The two-time All-Star Berrios fanned eight of the first 13 batters he faced and Eric Sogard’s fifth-inning single was the only hit he allowed.
Milwaukee ended up with just three hits, sticking starter Brandon Woodruff with his second loss.
Adrian Houser takes the mound for the Brewers tonight (Friday) in Pittsburgh to start a three-game series. First pitch is at 6:05 PM, in a game you can hear on 107.9 FM WOMT, and at WOMTRadio.com.
