
The Capitol Civic Centre has named its new Executive Director.
According to a news release this morning (August 19) from Board President, Tom Angst, the new leader of the downtown theater is PJ Albert. Originally from Chicago Heights, Illinois, Albert brings more than 20 years of experience in performing arts management.
He fills the position vacated by Matthew Schliesman, who retired August 14th, after nearly 10-years as the Capitol’s Executive Director. Albert attended school at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he studied Theatre and has worked for organizations such as Williamstown Theatre festival, Santa Fe Opera and RSL Theatrical. He also held a number of positions for Orlando Shakespeare Theater.
In accepting his new position in Manitowoc, PJ Albert said, “I’m excited to be a part of the future of the Capitol Civic Centre. This historic building and respected organization have been a phenomenal part of this community for years, and I hope to continue that tradition.”
