Barriers are up, security is tight and most of the area around the Wisconsin Center is locked down this week for the Democratic National Convention.
Dozens of law enforcement officers are present – even though delegates aren’t.
The security budget for the convention was originally around $50 million, however, Mayor Tom Barrett’s office said Monday the cost is now going to be close to $20 million.
Some protesters still came, but many are questioning whether the level of security is necessary after the coronavirus pandemic made the gathering go virtual.
