A four-year, $70-million contract extension means Kenny Clark is the highest-paid nose tackle in N-F-L history.
The deal includes a $25-million signing bonus, and according to E-S-P-N’s Adam Schefter, Clark will make $37 million in salary during the first two years of the agreement.
Clark says he was sleeping when phone messages from his agent and his mother woke him up at about midnight Friday.
The Packers now have four more starters with contracts that expire in 2021 – David Bakhtiari, Aaron Jones, Corey Linsley and Kevin King.
Green Bay Packers President and C-E-O Mark Murphy says 80 percent of the team’s fans have opted out of season tickets for 2020.
Murphy says the results of a survey sent to season ticket holders revealed many of them weren’t comfortable returning to Lambeau Field during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Packers have announced the stadium will be empty for the first two home games at least.
Murphy says that decision was made knowing how much the games mean to the local economy, but the most important consideration was protecting the health and safety of the fans.
