The WIAA Board of Control approved shortening the winter sports season by three weeks During today’s meeting in Stevens Point. Under the changes, girls basketball will begin the week of November 16th with boys basketball and wrestling beginning the week of November 23rd with all postseason play to finish before March 1st with the exception of Boys Basketball which begins the first week of March.
Meanwhile, spring sports are shortened two weeks and will begin the first three weeks in April with postseason play wrapping up during the week of June 14th. This is to make room for alternative fall seasons to begin in late February. Spring football would begin March 8th.
All changes adapted today are for this school year only.
