His attorney says former Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales is pursuing legal action after his demotion last week.
Morales filed his retirement papers Wednesday.
Attorney Franklyn Gimbel says any one of several legal actions is possible – including suing for reinstatement as chief, filing a claim for damages, filing a federal civil rights action, or seeking a judicial review of the Fire and Police Commission’s actions.
That fourth route would allege a denial of due process.
Morales is eligible to receive more than 104 thousand dollars-a-year in annual pension payments.
