A current in Lake Michigan near the shore at Milwaukee’s McKinley Beach took two lives Saturday evening.
Two 14-year-old boys were struggling when a 50-year-old man jumped in to help. He got one of them to safety, but the man and the other boy were both pulled underwater and drowned.
No names have been released.
The boy died after rescuers with the Milwaukee Fire Department got him out. The man was rescued and taken to a hospital, but he died early Sunday.
The boy who survived has been hospitalized.
