The City of Manitowoc Crime Prevention Committee is scheduled to gather this evening in the Public Safety Building.
At their 6:30 PM meeting, the Committee will receive updates form their High School Members, School Resource Officers, and City Council, before going over the latest scams.
The only scam listed for discussion is the Facebook Gift Card scam. The way that one works is a friend shares a link to receive a free gift card for a major retailer, and when you click on it you are told you have to fill out a form containing lots of personal data to get your prize. However, that prize never comes.
And lastly, the Committee will be discussing the Crime Prevention Award which will be given out on October 8th.
