When a coaching change at Miami University made defenseman Jacob Martin rethink his college choice, he wound up switching to the Wisconsin Badgers.
Martin is about to enter his second season with the U-S-A Hockey National Team Development Program. He gave the Badgers program a non-binding oral commitment over the weekend.
The Eagle River native is hoping to join Wisconsin for the 2021-22 season, but the timeline isn’t firm yet.
Martin spent a year playing for the Madison Capitols youth program and he now splits his time between the Twin Cities metro area and Eagle River, when he’s not with the development team.
