A Manitowoc man was taken into police custody on a child abuse charge.
Officers were called by the mother of the child at around 6:15 Tuesday morning, after she had received a call from her child claiming their father had struck them and smashed their phone.
The victim told officers that their 53-year-old father had gotten upset with them smashed their phone on the ground and struck them multiple times.
The man also allegedly tackled the child, whose age was withheld, to the ground.
He was arrested by the Manitowoc Police Department and charged with Felony Physical Abuse of a Child and Damage to Property.
