Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says he has been discussing a plan with Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos to strike down the governor’s face mask mandate.
Fitzgerald says he wants the Legislature to convene this week or next to take the action.
Vos opposes the mandate, but he hasn’t said whether the Assembly should return to the Capitol to end the mandate.
The executive order from Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is designed to slow the spread of the coronavirus at a time when cases are spiking in the state.
