Governor Tony Evers issued a statewide mask mandate for anyone aged 5 years or older when indoors and not at a private residence yesterday.
Senator Devin LeMahieu of Oostburg responded to the mandate by saying, “This unilateral mask mandate is another overreach by Governor Tony Evers.”
In a news release LeMahieu pointed to the fact that Governor Evers said earlier this month that such a mandate was “unlikely” to be issued.
The 9th District Senator also said, “It is also deeply disappointing that this administration is only willing to consider ‘one-size-fits-all’ solutions without regard to regional considerations. The Legislature needs to look into every available avenue to block this order.”
