A Manitowoc man was arrested early this morning after he allegedly struck his fiancée with his walking cane.
Officers were dispatched to the residence in the 200 block of North 8th Street at around 4:00 AM to investigate the incident.
When they arrived they spoke with the male victim, who said he was woken up at around 3:30 AM by his intoxicated fiancée arriving home with two friends. He told the suspect that he didn’t want anyone in the residence as he was trying to sleep, and asked the two other people to leave.
He then told officers that his 46 year old fiancée got angry, threw a cellphone across the living room, and hit him with his walking cane.
The officer noted visible injuries that validated the story, and the assailant was arrested. He is now facing a single charge of Battery with a Domestic Violence Order.
