Everyone has heard that if you have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 you are supposed to quarantine yourself, but what exactly does that mean?
An article released by the Centers for Disease control, which was shared on Facebook by the Manitowoc County Health Department, the CDC says “People in quarantine should stay home, separate themselves from others, monitor their health, and follow directions from their state or local health department.”
As for what counts as close contact, they specify that this includes those who were within 6 feet of someone who has COVID-19 for at least 15 minutes, provided care at home to someone who is sick with COVID-19, had direct physical contact with the person, hared eating or drinking utensils, or were sneezed, or coughed on by a patient, or somehow got their respiratory droplets on you.
If this happens, you are advised to stay home for 14 days, and monitor yourself for any of the symptoms associated with the virus.
