Madison police officers say a 12-year-old driver admitted to them she didn’t know how to operate the car she was driving. S
he was arrested Tuesday after cutting a wild path down a city street. Her name hasn’t been released.
Witnesses say she was driving in the wrong lane, jumped a curb, took out a mailbox, crossed the street to the other side and damaged a piece of furniture left on the curb for trash pickup.
Her erratic joy ride narrowly missed two trees.
She was charged with reckless endangerment, operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and resisting.
