Anglers, grab your poles. The 38th annual Kewaunee/Door County Salmon Tournament starts this Friday.
The nine day event, widely known as K/D, is the largest summer salmon-only fishing contest on the Great Lakes. Fishing is allowed on both Green Bay and Lake Michigan, from the Kewaunee County line to the Wisconsin-Michigan border north and west of Washington Island, with five weigh in locations at Algoma, Baileys Harbor, Kewaunee, Sturgeon Bay and Washington Island.
There are $50,000 in cash and prizes available that even the most amateur fisherman or woman can win.
Tickets are $25 for the full tournament or $13 for a one-day chance, and are available at a variety of businesses in Kewaunee and Door Counties.
