The Racine Police Department is investigating after a squad car was struck by gunfire. Officers say a special investigator was on assignment Monday when an unrelated disturbance broke out. Two people had guns and began firing at each other with the investigator caught in the crossfire. The officer was sitting in the squad as it was struck several times. The investigator got out and identified himself and one person ran while the other dropped his gun and was arrested. The officer received several scratches from broken glass and did not fire his weapon. Police are still looking for the second suspect.
