
Two men were taken into police custody after a three vehicle crash injured a woman in Manitowoc.
The incident was reported to the Manitowoc Police Department at 11:30 Monday morning, with the caller reporting that the crash occurred on Rapids Road near Archer Street , just north of the Manitowoc River.
Several witnesses to the crash stated that two vehicles were traveling at a high rate of speed, when one lost control, and struck the bridge, careening into another vehicle, which then hit another vehicle. The witnesses said it appeared as if the two vehicles had been racing.
One person was injured in the accident, and the two men who were racing fled on foot. They were eventually located on Michigan Avenue between Indian Bluff and Glenview Drives.
The 32 year old and 28 year old male suspects are facing charges of Recklessly Endangering Safety, Hit and Run Causing Injury, and Racing on a Roadway, with the 32 year old also charged with Operating After Revocation.
