U-W Athletics reports seven of 428 athletes have tested positive for COVID-19. That includes the first two reported last month.
Once the athlete tests positive, they are immediately isolated and then monitored by the department’s Infection Response Team.
The school hasn’t reported how many athletes are self-isolating right now.
Contact-tracing has been done to measure the potential exposure to others.
Football and volleyball teams returned to campus June 8th with voluntary workouts beginning a week later.
Daily screenings are being conducted before the athletes are allowed to take part in workouts.
They’re wearing masks before and after those workouts on the Madison campus.
