Former Wisconsin Badgers defenseman Wyatt Kalynuk is expected to sign a contract with the N-H-L Chicago Blackhawks.
A report in TheAthletic.com calls Kalynuk an offensive-minded defenseman who was a Badgers team captain and a first-team All-Big Ten selection as a junior.
He was drafted three years ago by the Philadelphia Flyers, but they failed to sign him during their “window of exclusivity.”
Kalynuk won’t be eligible to play in the 24-team N-H-L tournament if and when it gets underway in August.
