Madison police say two men who made Monday court appearances threatened to have protesters destroy businesses if they weren’t given free food and drinks.
Gregg A. James Junior and William T. Shanley appeared by video in Dane County Circuit Court.
James faces charges of threats to injure, party to a crime and disorderly conduct. Shanley is charged with party to a crime and threats to injure.
A third man, Devonere Johnson, faces similar charges, but there is also a federal criminal complaint against him.
