A 24 year old Manitowoc man was taken into police custody after he continuously ignored officers orders.
A police officer was on patrol in the 400 block of North 9th street just after 2:30 AM on Saturday, when he noticed that there were still patrons inside a bar in that area. Since all patrons must be out of all bars by 2:30 AM in Manitowoc, he pulled up to the establishment to see what was going on.
The bartender was attempting to get everyone out, but one man refused to let the officer inside. After several verbal requests for the man to move, the officer attempted to physically move him by pulling his arm. The man continuously pulled away, doing so several times after officers told him he would be arrested if he didn’t stop. One officer pointed a Taser at the man, who was eventually taken into custody.
The bar was issued a warning for having patrons inside after closing hours, and the man was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
