The severe economic consequences of COVID-19 had a significant impact on existing home sales in May, according to the latest statistics from the Wisconsin Realtors Association.
In their monthly analysis of home sales, the WRA found them falling by nearly 26% last month on a year-over-year basis. Median prices continued to rise at a robust pace, increasing more than 6% in May compared to a year ago.
Locally, home sales in Manitowoc County actually rose by 10 to 85 last month & were at their highest monthly figure for the year. They were off compared to May of 2019 when 112 homes were sold.
The median price for existing homes sold in Manitowoc County continued its’ upward trend, increasing from $135,000 in April to $145,000.
