Two employees at the Two Rivers Police Department have tested positive for COVID-19.
Two Rivers Police Chief Brian Kohlmeier spoke with SeehaferNews.com telling us that a “State of Emergency” was declared for the Department Monday following the second confirmed positive test.
He explained, “we have been having our employees wear masks more often, anytime they are outside of their work spaces, making sure that they are wearing masks whenever they have citizen contact, and disinfecting more than we were before. Also, we have tested all our employees for COVID, and luckily there haven’t been any other positive tests.”
One of the positive tests includes an officer and at least one had some contact with citizens while on the job.
Chief Kohlmeir said he has been very open and honest about the situation because “The community needs to know what’s going on, and we need to have their support. The only way to do that is to communicate, and make sure they know what’s going on.”
Those who’ve tested positive are self-isolating for 14 days.
