Despite some restrictions for COVID-19, some good things are happening this summer at The Manitowoc Public Library. S
usie Menk of the MPL tells SeehaferNews.com they have been wiping down surfaces, and keeping contact limited. “We do have masks available,” Menk said. “We’re not requiring them to be in the library, but if you are going to be dealing one on one with a library staff member, we do ask that you have a mask along that you can put on.”
She said at the end of each business day they’re doing a deep clean of the library. Menk explains they’re checking out materials on a pretty normal basis right now, but there’s no on-sight programming at this time.
With Independence Day coming up they’re taking a different approach to the Red, White and Blue painting program. She said that “Because of the social distancing, we can’t have families coming in and painting the windows…It would be too close for that. We have come up with an alternative. We are handing out posters, and we have lots of them.”
She said that families can come in anytime to pick up as many posters as they want, and return them by July 1st so library staff can hang them up in the windows before the 4th of July celebration in Manitowoc.
