Commitments from five-to-seven four-star recruits – depending on which service you’re quoting – has the Wisconsin football program welcoming its best class in history, beating last year.
Three-star cornerback Ricardo Hallman of Fort Lauderdale, Florida is the latest athlete to give a verbal commitment.
The website 247Sports.com ranks Wisconsin’s Class of 2021 number 11, number three in the Big Ten Conference. Things likely will change and Alabama won’t remain outside the top 20 schools very long.
This fall’s incoming class of freshmen was the previous top group and they were ranked just outside the top 25.
Meanwhile, the Badgers football team reports 100 of its 123 eligible players have reported this week for voluntary workouts.
The N-C-A-A just ruled that schools can make those workouts mandatory the middle of next month, with preseason practices getting underway in August.
Badgers head coach Paul Chryst says, for now, he and his staff are just taking it day-to-day.
The voluntary workouts started Monday with all schools following COVID-19 protocols to keep players safe.
