An open forum on racism in Menomonie Wisconsin Sunday is just the first of several planned for the Chippewa Valley in the coming weeks.
The group called A-T-P – Amplify the People – says its mission is to make sure people of color are heard and represented.
About two dozen people attended the event in Wilson Park to discuss racism and hear from those who have experienced it.
Organizer Aidan Raney says people have to realize they don’t have to yell at each other and call each other names in order to talk about hard subjects.
