A Manitowoc man faces some serious charges after being arrested early today for his 9th OWI offense along with other charges. 42-year-old Eric Newcomer appeared in Manitowoc County Court today and was charged with the OWI along with possession of heroin with intent to deliver and resisting an officer. His bail was set at $7,500 with conditions of absolute sobriety, not operating a vehicle without a valid license, and having no contact with taverns.
Newcomer was arrested as a result of a complaint of loud noise coming from the radio in his car near the corner of 16th and Grand in Manitowoc just before midnight. The police report states he was asleep in the vehicle. While dealing with officers, he fled on foot and had to be tased. Officers found nearly five grams of heroin on him, and took him to the Manitowoc County Jail on a probation hold.
