Officials of the P-N-C Milwaukee Marathon say they’re investigating reports that last weekend’s race was too short. An internal probe is underway, after some runners said the G-P-S devices only measured 25-point-five miles — seven tenths of a mile less than a standard marathon distance. The race was promoted as a qualifying event for the nation’s best known marathons in Boston and New York — but if last Sunday’s event was not long enough, officials say it won’t count. Former U-W Platteville standout Tyler Sigl of Seymour was the overall winner in Milwaukee with a time of two hours, 20 minutes, and 53 seconds. Former U-W Green Bay runner Callie Bartel won the women’s race.
