Harley Promotes VP To Chief Operating Officer

A senior vice president for Harley Davidson is being promoted to chief operating officer. Michelle Kumbier will oversee Harley’s U-S and foreign motorcycle markets, in addition to her current duties as the V-P for products and operations. She joined the Milwaukee based Harley in 1997 in purchasing and has risen through the ranks. Her promotion was announced Tuesday, the same day Harley reported a continued drop in U-S motorcycle sales — with a total decline of 40-percent in its quarterly profits compared to the same time last year.
