Online retail giant Amazon-dot-com is going to be taking over at least part of J-C Penney’s former warehouse in Wauwatosa soon.
The city’s plan commission has already approved the acquisition, but the companies are waiting for approval from the full common council.
The new facility could bring hundreds of jobs to the region.
It means Amazon will be able to make deliveries to homes and businesses within a 45-minute drive.
Amazon has five hubs in southeastern Wisconsin with the transaction.
