In an attempt to help restaurants recover from two months of reduced business due to COVID-19, the Sheboygan Common Council has eased the requirements needed for a restaurant to have outdoor seating.
The motion was brought forth by Ryan Sorenson and Mary Lynne Donohue, and was passed with a unanimous vote.
Under the new rules, dining establishments no longer need to include the measurements of the adjacent street and avenue or a legal description of the sidewalk café in order to apply for an outside dinning permit.
The motion will now need to be approved by the Plan Commission before it goes into effect.
