A rainbow flag will again fly over the Wisconsin State Capitol for the remainder of June in recognition of Pride Month.
Governor Tony Evers says the flag will go up over the East Wing this afternoon (Friday 1 p-m). The Democratic governor said, “Wisconsin is a proud state that recognizes that diversity makes our communities and our state stronger.”
Evers says the pride flag will not disrupt other flags that regularly fly over the Capitol building.
It was raised for the first time last year and some Republicans said not everyone in the state agrees with celebrating the L-G-B-T lifestyle.
