One of the biggest tourist attractions in the city of Manitowoc is reopening today. The Wisconsin Maritime Museum is now allowing visitors in again.
We spoke with Cathy Green, the Executive Director at the museum, who explained why they now feel comfortable reopening to the public.
She explained “We have been monitoring things for weeks now, and looking at the federal guidance and state guidance as well as best practices for what other museums are doing. We’ve come up with some safety guidelines that we think will give a safe experience for visitors as well as our staff.”
Obviously there are a few changes they have implemented in accordance with CDC and other health official recommendations. These include social distancing, and masks being recommended.
As far as the S.S. Cobia is concerned, they will only be allowing 10 or less people on the sub at a time, and masks will be required.
The museum will be open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM every day, with the first hour being reserved for the elderly, and those who are immunocompromised.
Sub Pub on the roof deck will open at 4:00 PM on Thursdays and Friday, and will open at 1:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
