The Wisconsin National Guard remains deployed in Wisconsin cities to help law enforcement and preserve the rights of individuals to peacefully protest.
Nearly 12-hundred soldiers and airmen have ongoing missions in Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Kenosha, and Racine, and some of the troops continue to stand ready to assist in other communities if requested by local authorities.
The state’s five largest cities have seen varying amounts of violence and looting, mostly following otherwise peaceful protests over the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police.
