Leaders in the University of Wisconsin System point to a new study as evidence a degree can really pay off.
The study of 12,000 U-W graduates over the last six years finds their median income after one year on the job is 49 thousand dollars. School leaders will use the information as they try to hold off more budget cuts from state lawmakers.
The study was conducted by the U-W System’s Office of Policy Analysis and Research. It finds that almost 90 percent of graduates from the state are still living in Wisconsin five years after they graduate.
