
The USDA’s Farmers to Families program is providing truckloads of food to community partners that are able to distribute food to those in need.
This Saturday, May 29, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Northern Cold Storage, located at 1310 Clark Street, Grow it Forward in Manitowoc will distribute a semi-truckload of donated food.
Each family can receive a box of prepacked produce, a few additional food items may be available such as bread, meat, milk, cheese, and nonperishable food items. There are over 1,600 cases of produce available.
Volunteers on hand will simply put the food in the car while wearing masks & gloves. The program is open to anyone in need of food, and registration is not required.
The program is supported by the Hunger Relief Federation of Wisconsin, the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box program, The Wisconsin Dairy Recovery Program, Coolest Coast, Northern Cold Storage, and of course, Grow it Forward.
