A female is lucky to be alive after an auto accident launched her off the Main Street Bridge in Green Bay into the Fox River.
The incident occurred at just before 5:30 yesterday morning. Officers arrived at the scene to find a vehicle had crashed into the guard rail on the bridge, which caused the unnamed female to be launched from the vehicle, over the rail, and into the river below. An unnamed individual happened to be in a fishing boat in the river, and quickly jumped to the aid of the female, and brought her to shore.
The 17-year-old female driver and the female that landed in the river were both taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, and the driver was cited for OWI Causing Injury.
The incident is still under investigation.
