The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed an over $3 trillion bill dubbed the “Heroes Act” to address the COVID 19 Pandemic. Sixth District Congressman Glen Grothman followed through with his promise in voting no.
He told SeehaferNews.com “At the rate we are going, we are only going to leave our children with a huge amount of debt.” Approximately $3 trillion has already been spent on four other bills to help aid those affected by the pandemic. In addition, the Federal Reserve has paid out $4 trillion to pay off multitudes of debt.
The Glenbeulah Republican says that “we need to put brakes on spending for a while.” A majority of Republicans in Washington are also against this claiming the “Heroes Act” contains several “partisan provisions” including nearly a trillion dollars to bail out “cash strapped” local and state governments that were “well in the red” before the pandemic hit.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says “action is of the essence in that many Americans are hurting and need help immediately.” The Republican-controlled U.S. Senate says the bill is basically “dead on arrival” with no discussion expected to be taken-if at all-until after the Memorial Day weekend.
