University of Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez says six weeks of training would be ideal for the football Badgers to get ready for the 2020 season, but that’s not necessarily a requirement.
Alvarez says the players and coaches can be flexible.
To have six weeks for preparation before the September 4th opener against Indiana at Camp Randall Stadium, summer practice would have to start by July 19th.
On his monthly radio show Wednesday, Alvarez says head coach Paul Chryst has said a shortened training time would be workable.
He says if the coaches only have three weeks to get ready, they’ll be ready in three.
