With COVID-19 not allowing gatherings for weeks, coaches of local high school athletic teams have become creative in honoring their athletes.
At Manitowoc Lutheran High School, Track & Field Coach Abbey Bubolz held a virtual end-of-season awards night recently.
Bubolz had a few remarks about the canceled season & her 17 seniors who got in one week of practice before schooling went virtual. The Lancers coach said “Ten of our seniors are four-year athletes in the sport and that’s a big deal.”
She added, “That’s a lot of hard work, and this group did work hard.”
Bubolz also stated, “Seniors, my heart hurts for you that you don’t get your senior season.”
She also reflected, “This group of boys was last at conference their freshmen year and they clawed their way up every year improving immensely.”
