There are several major projects going on in the City of Two Rivers, and a few are nearing completion.
As far as the Cobblestone Hotel is concerned, City Manager Greg Buckley said in his monthly report that the interior work on the structure is still ongoing, but they hope to have it all completed by late July.
The city’s contribution of $750,000 for that project has been completely used up, and the total cost of the project has exceeded $3.6 million.
Also, the building expansion at Riverside Foods is well underway, with new machinery and equipment to follow. The skeleton of the building is standing for the $8 million project.
The city is assisting with a $400,000 TIF Grant, and a $300,000 loan. That project is expected to create 30 new jobs at Lakeside Foods.
Buckley also explained that the City is holding conversations with two prospective buyers for the former Paragon Partners property on 6th Street. They are also still evaluating grant funding options for any development that would happen on that site.
